Movement and Mindfulness in the Classroom

Humans are born to move, along with being a natural expression of the mind. Only through providing opportunities for purposeful movement, can the child learn to control his body with his mind. The ultimate result is that the mind can order the body to inhibit all movements and reach silence. Mindfulness, for young children, is the ability to control the body to do what they want to do. We want to allow for real purposeful movement. Participants will explore their own movements as adults, and how they can assist children in the classroom through the use of guided purposeful movements.
