Cultural Folder Workshop

  • 6001 West 16th Avenue Lakewood, CO, 80214 United States (map)

The Primary child’s understanding of the world grows from their own immediate sensorial experience. Therefore, when we introduce geography, it’s important to base our exploration upon what is similar in countries around the world, rather than what is different. What does a school look like in Argentina, or a city park in Egypt? What foods do people eat and where do they do their shopping? When a child has these cultural stories in mind, their work with the Puzzle Maps becomes much more interesting and purposeful. It’s always a good idea to update the pictures in your classroom’s Cultural Folders. Come spend an evening with local educators - you’ll leave with fresh inspiration to create a beautiful set of geography pictures and new stories to share with your children.
